Chapter 3 - The Unmasking of Sofia MorenoAt 9:00 AM the following morning, the executive boardroom atop the thirty-story Bellandi Global Tower in downtown Philadelphia was packed to absolute capacity.

Over thirty senior capos, commercial logistics directors, and high-society attorneys sat around the forty-foot mahogany table beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Sitting at the far end of the table, wearing a dark silk dress, her face pale and calculated, was Sofia Moreno. Beside her sat her younger brother, Daniel Moreno, who wore a arm sling following his non-lethal shoulder injury from the Friday night shooting.

"Gentlemen!" Sofia announced smoothly, waving a set of legacy paper deeds. "My father gave his life to protect the Bellandi family thirty years ago! Under the original Syndicate Charter of 1996, the Moreno family is entitled to twenty percent of all commercial shipping yields from the South Philadelphia terminals!"

The capos murmured among themselves, looking uncertainly toward the empty head of the table.

BOOM!

The heavy double glass doors of the executive boardroom were thrown open!

Walking down the central carpeted aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four federal marshals, was me.

I wore a magnificent charcoal bespoke suit, my dark hair pulled back into a sleek, regal knot, my hazel eyes radiating an unshakeable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to zero.

And walking right behind me was Adrian Bellandi.

He wore a dark tuxedo, but his broad frame was gaunt, his face pale, his eyes hollowed out by twenty-four hours of non-stop agony. He didn't walk as the Don leading the room; he walked three steps behind me, acting as my unyielding, silent shadow.

Sofia’s eyes widened in utter shock. "Mara...? What are you doing here?!"

"I am taking back what belongs to me, Sofia," I announced flatly, my clear baritone echoing off the high glass walls, silencing thirty powerful men instantly.

Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding high-definition digital ledgers and telecommunication logs onto the central projector screens:

THE FAKE AMBUSH AUDIT: Certified forensic ballistics proving the Friday night shooting outside Daniel Moreno’s restaurant was a staged, low-caliber setup executed by Daniel's own associate to force Adrian Bellandi out of his home on his anniversary.

THE MORENO EXTORTION SCHEME: Bank registries documenting Sofia Moreno funneling $4.8 million from syndicate shell accounts into offshore Panama trusts over the last six months.

THE CORPORATE REALITY: Certified deeds proving that the Bellandi Logistics Terminals do not belong to the Bellandi syndicate—they belong exclusively to the Mara Bennett Heritage Trust.

The capos stood up in unanimous, furious uproar, glaring at Sofia and Daniel Moreno in absolute disgust!

Sofia dropped her papers, her manicured fingers shaking violently as her face turned an ugly, paper-white shade of green.

"Adrian... darling!" Sofia shrieked, falling flat onto her knees near the table, looking at Adrian with desperate, crying eyes. "It's not true! I did it because my brother owed debts to the New York families! I needed your protection! You promised my father you would always take care of me!"

Adrian Bellandi walked slowly forward. He stopped two feet from Sofia, looking down at his first love with an absolute, clean, weightless disgust.

"My father died thirty years ago, Sofia," Adrian spoke, his voice smooth as silk and cold as winter ice. "And my wife gave me nine years of her soul. You used my dead father's name to destroy the only real thing in my life."

Lead Marshal Miller stepped forward, locking heavy steel handcuffs around Sofia’s and Daniel Moreno’s wrists behind their backs.

"Sofia Moreno, Daniel Moreno," Marshal Miller declared coldly. "You are under arrest for Interstate Wire Fraud, Staged Extortion, and Grand Larceny."
