Chapter 3 - The Grand Ballroom of FoolsThe Metropolitan Grand Ballroom on Fifth Avenue was a sea of glittering crystal chandeliers, champagne fountains, and high-stakes corporate ambition.

Over five hundred billionaires, state governors, foreign diplomats, and wall-street titans moved across the polished marble floors.

Near the central champagne pyramid stood Julian Vance, looking immaculate in his tailored tuxedo, holding a crystal glass of vintage Pinot Noir. Beside him, Victoria Sterling wore her wine-red gown, her arm looped tightly through his, tilting her head back in practiced, triumphant laughter as she spoke with three senior bank directors.

Standing nearby were Evelyn and Chloe Vance, holding plates of beluga caviar, their faces flushed with arrogance.

"I always knew Julian would find a real woman," Evelyn boasted loudly to a group of high-society wives standing nearby. "For eight years, he was dragged down by that pathetic Clara! She couldn't even cook a proper dinner without shattering glass! Now, my son is stepping into his true place alongside the Sterling family!"

"Is Victoria really a primary trust holder in Sterling Investment Group?" one of the society wives asked, looking curiously at Victoria's wine-red dress.

"Of course she is!" Chloe chimed in, holding up her phone to record a video for social media. "Julian doesn't waste his time with ordinary women anymore. Tonight, Sterling Investment Group is announcing Julian’s ten-billion-dollar commercial port contract!"

At the center of the floor, Julian beamed with pride, pressing a soft kiss to Victoria's cheek as the photographers' flashbulbs popped around them.

"You look stunning tonight, Victoria," Julian whispered into her ear. "When Chairwoman Sterling makes her grand entrance tonight, I want you standing right beside me when I present our merger proposal."

Victoria's smile twitched slightly, a subtle flash of panic flickering in her eyes before she masked it with another drink of champagne. "Don't worry, Julian... the Chairwoman knows exactly who I am."

Suddenly, the fanfare trumpets sounded near the grand arched entrance of the ballroom.

The ambient chatter across the five-hundred-person room died down instantly.

The Master of Ceremonies stepped up to the main balcony microphone, his voice echoing cleanly across the quiet hall:

"Ladies and Gentlemen... please welcome the Sole Primary Shareholder and Global Chairwoman of Sterling Investment Group... CHAIRWOMAN CLARA STERLING."
