Chapter 5 - The Departure from Sun ValleyWithin twenty minutes, the matte-black military helicopter’s turbine blades began to whine once more, spinning into a furious, high-speed blur across the darkening Sun Valley sky.

Guests standing on the Holloway Estate lawn watched in stunned, speech-bound silence as Grace and her four brilliant sons walked across the snow toward the boarding ladder.

Mason climbed up first, turning to offer a steady, helpful hand to Caleb, Asher, and Liam.

Grace stepped up last, pausing on the metal threshold. She looked back toward the edge of the terrace where Tristan stood alone in the freezing snow, his hands empty, his future obliterated by the very arrogance he had cultivated for a decade.

She offered him a final, quiet nod—not of forgiveness, but of closure.

Then she stepped inside, sliding the heavy cabin door shut.

The helicopter lifted vertically off the snow, banking gracefully over the pine forest, its red-and-white anti-collision lights blinking against the twilight sky as it turned southwest toward Boise.

Tristan stood frozen in the snow long after the aircraft had vanished into the mountain clouds.

Sabrina walked up beside him, her face twisted in fury. "Well? Are you just going to let her fly away?! Sue her! Get a court order!"

Tristan slowly turned his head to look at his fiancée.

For the first time in his life, he saw Sabrina clearly—not as the prestigious trophy he had chosen to validate his career, but as a shallow, selfish distraction.

"It's over, Sabrina," Tristan said quietly, his voice dead and emotionless.

"What do you mean, it's over?!"

"The wedding is off," Tristan stated, walking past her toward the estate doors. "And my career in the military is going to undergo a very thorough, very honest review."

Sabrina shrieked behind him, but Tristan didn't stop. He walked into the empty Holloway Estate, realizing too late that the grand life he thought he had created was nothing more than a house built on sand.
