Chapter 6 - The Clean SlateTwo weeks later.

The private airstrip in Aspen was bathed in the crisp, golden light of early autumn. The snow-dusted peaks of the Rocky Mountains rose majestically against a brilliant blue sky, silent and eternal.

I stood at the top of the mobile airstair of my family’s private Gulfstream jet, taking a deep breath of the sharp, clean mountain air.

My phone buzzed in my coat pocket.

I pulled it out. A secure notification from Marcus:

Asset recovery complete. Brooks-Sterling subsidiary successfully absorbed into Astra Global Holdings under your sole executive control. Ethan's trial date set for November. Clara’s legal counsel has entered a guilty plea in exchange for testimony.

I locked the screen, slipping the phone back into my pocket with a quiet sense of finality.

The nightmare was over. The imposter was behind bars, the traitorous husband was facing federal prison, and the corporate empire that bore my family's name was back where it belonged—firmly in my hands.

As I turned to step inside the cabin, a soft, familiar voice called out from across the tarmac.

"Olivia!"

I paused, looking down.

Standing near the edge of the secure perimeter, holding a bouquet of wild alpine lilies, was my younger brother, Julian—who had flown in from Zurich to help me restructure the European holdings—along with Marcus and our chief legal counsel.

"Are we ready to take off, Boss?" Julian called out with a warm, teasing grin, holding up the lilies.

I looked at the flowers, then at the bright horizon stretching out infinitely before us.

For thirty years, I had believed that being a good wife meant shrinking myself to fit inside someone else's definition of success. I had believed that loyalty meant enduring betrayal in silence.

I had been wrong.

I smiled, letting the cool wind catch my hair, feeling lighter and more powerful than I had ever felt in my entire life.

"Let's go home," I said.

And as the jet engines roared to life, lifting us up into the boundless sky, I knew that the true story of Olivia Brooks was only just beginning.
