Chapter 7 - The Crown Built on LoveSome love stories begin in fairytale castles, but the best ones are forged in fire, sealed with blood, and lived in absolute devotion.

One year later.
The sun shone brilliantly over the private cliffs of the Vitale estate in Long Island. The shattered glass and bullet holes from the attack a year ago had been completely erased, replaced by magnificent gardens, marble fountains, and blooming white roses.
The war with the Moretti family was over. Don Moretti was serving a life sentence in federal prison, and the tri-state area was completely unified under Lorenzo’s absolute, unchallenged rule.
The grand lawn was set with hundreds of white chairs, filled with politicians, business leaders, and high-ranking family members from all across Italy and America.
Even Donatella Vitale sat in the front row, wearing a silver silk gown, smiling warmly as she watched the ceremony. She had long since accepted me, realizing that I was the iron pillar that kept her son anchored and safe.
Standing at the altar near the cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was Lorenzo, wearing a bespoke midnight-blue tuxedo, his eyes fixed on the marble aisle.
Soft violin music floated through the summer air.
I walked down the aisle, holding a bouquet of white peonies. My wedding dress was a stunning lace creation that trailed softly over the grass, catching the warm ocean breeze.
Holding my left hand as he walked me down the aisle was six-year-old Matteo, wearing a matching tuxedo, grinning proudly from ear to ear.
When we reached the altar, Matteo handed my hand to his father. "Take care of her, Papa," Matteo said loudly, making the entire crowd chuckle warmly.
"With my life, son," Lorenzo promised smoothly.
The priest began the traditional Italian ceremony, reciting the ancient vows of devotion, honor, and eternal unity.
When it came time for the rings, Lorenzo took my right hand, sliding a massive platinum band set with flawless diamonds onto my finger.
He looked down into my eyes, his voice deep, rough, and trembling with genuine, profound emotion.
"One year ago," Lorenzo said softly in Italian, his words heard only by me, "I was a man trapped in a dark world of blood and duty. I thought my heart had died the day my son was born into this chaos. But then a angel stepped into Central Park and spoke my language."
Tears of pure happiness welled in my eyes as I smiled up at him.
"You saved my son, Maya," Lorenzo continued, pressing his lips gently against my knuckles. "Then you saved my home. And finally... you saved my soul. I swear to love you, protect you, and honor you until my very last breath."
I slid his gold wedding band onto his finger, resting my hand against his cheek.
"I love you, Lorenzo," I whispered. "In this life and the next."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest declared. "You may kiss the bride."
Lorenzo didn't wait. He pulled me into his arms, dipping me gently over his knee, pressing his lips to mine in a deep, passionate kiss that sealed our destiny forever.
The entire audience erupted into thunderous, roaring applause.
Matteo jumped up and down, cheering wildly, throwing rose petals into the air.
Lorenzo pulled back, looking down at me, his dark eyes shining with absolute, triumphant love. He took my hand on his right, and Matteo’s hand on his left, leading us together toward our future.
