Chapter 4 - The Exposure of Elena(Focus: Elena attempts to blackmail Vivian with intimate details, only to find Vivian has already prepared a public relations counter-offensive; Elena’s career is ruined.)

With Julian stripped of his company and his home, Elena found herself in a desperate situation. Her dreams of becoming the new, glamorous co-owner of a major Manhattan marketing agency had evaporated overnight. She was now facing the prospect of being blacklisted from the entire advertising industry.
On Thursday afternoon, she sent a frantic, threatening email to my personal address, demanding a private meeting at a quiet café in Soho, claiming she possessed "evidence" that would ruin my family's reputation if I didn't restore her position at the agency.
I agreed to meet her, not out of fear, but because I wanted to see the final, desperate gasps of a social climber who had climbed the wrong mountain.
Elena was sitting in the corner booth of the café, wearing oversized sunglasses, her hands shaking as she clutched a thick manila envelope. When I sat down opposite her, she didn't even bother to take off her glasses.
"You think you’ve won, Vivian?" Elena hissed, her voice trembling with a mixture of rage and fear. "You think you can just sweep me out of the picture? Inside this envelope are copies of five years of Julian’s emails, text messages, and financial records. It proves he was using your family’s charity foundation to launder money for personal expenses. If you don't give me a $100,000 severance package and sign a non-disparagement agreement, I will send this directly to the IRS and the Wall Street Journal."
I looked down at the envelope, then up at Elena’s tense, desperate face, and felt a profound sense of pity for her.
"You really don't understand how this works, do you, Elena?" I asked softly, taking a sip of my herbal tea.
"Don't patronize me!" she snapped, leaning forward. "This will destroy the Weyland brand! Your father’s legacy will be dragged through the mud!"
I pulled my tablet from my purse and slid it across the table toward her. On the screen was a live, front-page article from New York's primary financial news outlet.
The headline read: [EXCLUSIVE: WEYLAND VENTURE CAPITAL COLLABORATES WITH FEDERAL AUDITORS TO EXPOSE CORRUPTION AT GRANT MARKETING GROUP.]
"I didn't wait for you to leak anything, Elena," I explained, leaning back. "I spent the last forty-eight hours handing over those exact financial records to the internal revenue service and the district attorney. I was the one who initiated the audit. I exposed Julian's embezzlement myself, and because of my full cooperation, the Weyland Foundation has been cleared of any civil or criminal liability."
Elena’s face drained of color as she scrolled through the article, her eyes widening as she read her own name listed in the publication as an active accomplice in the corporate fraud scheme.
"And as for your career," I continued, "every major agency in New York has already received a copy of the filing. You aren't just fired, Elena. You are radioactive. No reputable brand will ever trust you with their creative assets again."

Elena threw the tablet onto the table, her tears finally spilling over her cheeks. "You're a monster! You ruined my life! I was just doing what Julian told me to do!"
"You were wearing my silk robe in my kitchen, Elena," I said, standing up and pulling my purse over my shoulder. "You wanted my life. Now, you get to experience the cost of trying to steal it."
