Chapter 4 - The Eviction NoticeThe board members began shifting uncomfortably in their seats, casting terrified glances between me and the frozen wreckage of the Harrington family.

“Ms. Vale,” the CFO stammered, raising a timid hand. “If... if you are the majority shareholder of Vale International, and Vale International holds the controlling debt of Harrington Luxe... what are your instructions for the company?”

I turned my gaze slowly toward the CFO, letting the suspense hang in the air for a long, torturous moment.

“Effective immediately,” I said clearly, “Harrington Luxe is entering a comprehensive corporate restructuring. All executive compensation packages are suspended pending a forensic audit of company funds. Furthermore, any executive found to have misused company assets for personal luxury, luxury vehicles, or unauthorized family stipends will be immediately terminated and handed over to federal prosecutors.”

Graham lunged across the table, his face purple with blind rage.

“You can't do that!” he screamed, his voice cracking into a feral yell as security guards instantly pinned his shoulders back into his chair. “I built this company! I closed the accounts! I brought in the clients! You’re just a bitter, vindictive bitch who’s mad because I threw you out in the cold!”

“You threw a mother and two newborns into freezing snow at midnight, Graham,” I replied, my voice dropping into a cold, lethal register that made several board members recoil. “You told me there would be no alimony, no house, and no money. You told me to sign away my rights while your mistress drank champagne inside my house.”

The entire boardroom went dead silent.

Vivian gasped, her eyes darting toward her son. “Mistress? What is she talking about, Graham?”

“She’s lying!” Graham shouted, though sweat was pouring down his face in sheets. “She’s making it all up!”

“Am I?” I tapped the screen of my phone on the table. With a single swipe, I broadcasted a high-definition video feed onto the massive smart-screen mounted on the boardroom wall.

The video showed security footage from the master bedroom of the Beverly Hills mansion taken just two hours ago. It clearly displayed Samantha Hayes—Graham’s executive assistant and long-term mistress—walking through my walk-in closet, casually trying on my designer diamond necklaces and laughing as she packed her bags into my designer luggage.

The screen flashed a second video: a recorded phone call between Graham and Samantha discussing how they were going to liquidate my personal art collection the moment the divorce papers were signed.

Vivian stared at the screen, her mouth hanging open in utter shock and betrayal. The pristine, untouchable illusion of the Harrington dynasty had just been shattered in forty-eight high-definition seconds.

“And speaking of the house,” I continued, turning my attention back to the shivering wreck of my husband, “Marcus, do we have the eviction paperwork ready for the Beverly Hills property?”

“Yes, Ms. Vale,” Marcus replied crisply, pulling out a second set of documents. “The trust that owns the deed has formally terminated all occupancy rights for Graham and Vivian Harrington. The local sheriff’s department is executing the lockout as we speak. Their personal belongings are currently being boxed up and placed on the curb.”

Graham stared at me, his eyes wide with a terrifying, dawning comprehension. The cold, calculating billionaire he had married in disguise wasn't a victim. She was the executioner.

“Evelyn... please,” Graham whispered, his voice finally breaking into a pathetic, sobbing plea as he slumped forward in his chair. “We have a history. We have a life together. Don't do this. I’m your husband.”

“You were my mistake, Graham,” I said, standing up smoothly from the executive chair. I buttoned my wool coat, picked up my leather folder, and looked down at the man who had thought his cruelty would go unpunished.

“My lawyers will deliver the final divorce decree to your new address—wherever that happens to be on the curb. Have a nice life, gentlemen.”
